Service Categories: Entities are authorized to provide services across specific legal service categories (e.g. Marriage and Family, Business, End of Life Planning). Even after authorization, if an applicant’s model changes to include a new model, the applicant must request additional assessment and authorization from the Innovation Office.
Service Models: Entities are authorized as one or multiple service model categories; entities may not offer services through a model for which they are not authorized. For example, if an entity is authorized as a “nonlawyer provider with lawyer involvement,” that entity may not offer a software platform or tool that practices law. If after authorization, if an applicant’s model changes to include a new model, the applicant must request additional assessment and authorization from the Innovation Office.
Below is a list of entities authorized to operate in the Sandbox. You may view the entity’s Court Order for Authorization to Practice Law and the Innovation Office’s Recommendation to the Court by selecting the entity’s name.
The Office is in the process of posting applications. If you are interested in reviewing an entity’s application that hasn’t been posted, please submit a Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) Request for Records form to nicks@utcourts.gov. Fees may incur associated with copy and research charges as permitted by Rule 4-202.08, Utah Code of Judicial Administration.
